

JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
MAIN DUTIES
- Ensure that financial records and transactions of the Credit Union are properly maintained
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and reconciliations
Reconcile bank statements and general ledgers
- Ensure the timely preparation of society’s annual financials for auditing at the end of the financial year by providing the auditor with all necessary schedules and required documentation
- Ensure compliance with all aspects of the Anti-Money compliance program, including but not limited to; Member identification program, transaction monitoring and reporting of suspicious activity in accordance with AML, CFT and CPF as per the Act and Regulations
- Perform regular accounts payable tasks including bank deposits and issuance of checks, oversee the processing of members’ payroll entries and maintain the fixed asset register
- Provide a high level of service and support to employees by assisting with research, error correction, inquiries and questions
- Comprehend and comply with the Cooperative Society’s Act, by-laws, regulations and all established internal policies and procedures of the Credit Union
Assist in preparation of budgets

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of three (5) years’ work experience in a similar role.
Degree in Accounting plus three (3) years working experience in a similar role.
The following are considered as assets:
- Knowledge of Financial Accounting Software
- Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards IFRS 9 and IFRS 16
- A Professional designation in accounting such as ACCA, CGA, CPA
- Experience in Audit
RENUMERATION
Salary will commensurate with qualifications and experience.
