2025 Scholarship Recipients

 

The Elks City of Castries Co-operative Credit Union Limited proudly announces two (2) secondary scholarship awardees of children of its members for the academic year of 2025/ 2026. The committee members, recently completed a revision and selection exercise of this year’s scholarship applications. The main criteria applied in the selection process was based on a combination of need and academic score in the recently concluded Caribbean Primary Exit Assessment (2025).   

Leton Francis and Starlee Pierre Louis were selected as this year’s scholarship recipients. Both students will be attending the St. Mary’s College and St. Joseph’s Convent, respectively.   

Credit Union members would have initially applied for the scholarships, upon the successful completion of the Caribbean Primary Exit Assessment. This year’s scholarship awardees will each receive a total of $1,500.00 per academic school year. In addition, nine (9) bursaries have also been awarded to students of the membership. Scholarship and bursary funds, based on the Credit Union’s guidelines, are to be allocated towards the cost of school books and materials, uniforms and tuition fees. 

Recipients of the scholarships are expected to take on an ambassadorship role for the Credit Union, displaying values which are consistently demonstrative of its standards including good discipline and conduct.  

The Board of Directors affirm the Credit Union’s ongoing commitment to the Cooperative Principle of Financial Education and by extension the Sustainable Development Goal of a Quality Education.  The Elks City of Castries Co-operative Credit Union Limited wishes to congratulate the successful members and their respective children, and encourage the students to continue working diligently and consistently, ensuring that the necessary dedication and effort is continuously put towards their studies throughout the school years.
